Custom Quilting
Tailor-made for your quilt top using a wide range of quilting techniques including stitch-in-the-ditch, echoing, block designs and free motion quilting.
Please confirm whether this service is available as it is dependent on current workload. Custom Quilting normally takes several days to complete.
I will trim and bind your quilt for a ¼” finished binding, with mitred corners and joins for scrappy bindings.
The binding can either be hand finished by me or left sewn one side, ready for you to hand finish.
For those of you who prefer to quilt your own tops but do not have the floor or table space, or find using dozens of safety pins tedious, I offer a basting service.
Your quilt top will be machine basted at 4” intervals using cotton/polyester core thread, ready for you to quilt either by hand or machine. Basting is usually done in a grid but can be parallel.

Many of my regular clients post quilts from all over Australia.
I recommend Australia Post, Express Post Parcel Service for reliable, trackable delivery.
Use their white plastic envelopes or a box. Place the patchwork top and backing inside a plastic bag.
Clients have also found Officeworks to be a reliable service.
My Process
Phone or SMS (0402 848 353) to get my address details and confirm how long it will take to finish your quilt. I can give you an indicative quote based on the square footage plus batting cost and other services you may require like binding, or basting. You may also wish to discuss your preferred quilt pattern and whether you have any deadlines like a birthday or wedding.
Ensure that your patchwork top, backing and batting are folded separately.
I can supply Nu-Wool batting, which will reduce the parcel size.
When you have posted the package, please text or phone me to advise that the quilt has been posted. I will contact you to confirm arrival. We can then finalise your choice of quilting pattern and discuss any issues.
When the quilt has been finished I will contact you to arrange payment and advise when it will be posted.

Quilt labels are used to record information on who made the quilt, the name of the quilt and when it was made.
I have a range of existing designs, or a custom designed label may include a photo or a poem. I can incorporate blocks from your quilt in the label.
Custom labels start from $25.
Irene likes to explore the variety found in colour and pattern and apply style and technique to give form to her creations.
